About
Renton Fish & Game Club, established in 1933, is a private, non-profit shooting facility just five miles east of Renton that welcomes the public without requiring membership. This long-standing institution has become a cornerstone for shooting sports in the Pacific Northwest, offering a unique combination of recreational and competitive shooting opportunities paired with a strong conservation mission.
The facility operates four distinct shooting ranges: shotgun, rifle, pistol, and archery, with specialized infrastructure for competitive events like International Trap - the only Olympic-style trap range in Washington State. The club’s commitment to safety is evident in the consistent praise from reviewers who highlight the discipline and professionalism of the Range Safety Officers. One local trap competitor noted this is ‘one-of-a-kind’ specifically because of the specialized shooting sports available and the dedication of the coaching staff.
Beyond recreational shooting, Renton Fish & Game Club stewards 40 acres as a wildlife sanctuary and actively participates in stream stocking and environmental projects throughout Washington State. The club hosts numerous events including cowboy action shooting matches, IDPA and USPSA competitions, and free kids’ shooting days, making it a hub for both serious competitors and families interested in firearms safety education.
The club operates Wednesday through Sunday, with full facility access Tuesday through Sunday. Wednesday through Sunday hours are 10 AM to 6 PM for rifle and pistol ranges, with shotgun range hours extending to dusk. Eye and ear protection are mandatory - though the facility provides loaner hearing protection if needed. Free, spacious parking and helpful office staff make first-time visits comfortable and straightforward.
